Octave Names David White Its New Chief Financial Officer
David White, a seasoned financial executive who’s led multiple companies through rapid growth, has been named Octave’s new Chief Financial Officer. He succeeds Julia Garcés, who will remain with the company.
White brings significant experience in the healthcare, technology, and energy sectors, serving in chief finance roles for nearly 20 years. At Octave, he’ll be leading long-term strategies for a company that has grown substantially since completing its Series B round of funding in late 2020.
“David’s depth of experience with building out the kind of infrastructure that takes a company from startup to long-term success is critical for the chapter that we are headed into,” says Octave Co-Founder and CEO Sandeep Acharya. “He stood out in a competitive process not only for his drive and experience, but for his wisdom and character.
“I also want to thank Julia for steering our finance organization through unprecedented changes with the COVID-19 shutdowns and soaring demand for services resulting from the pandemic. Octave is in a very strong financial position as a result of her leadership,” Acharya adds.
White has led finance at both late-stage, mature companies such as Five Prime Therapeutics, Cable & Wireless, PLC; and Chiron Corp., as well as rapidly growing young companies such as SolarCity Corp., IntegenX, Inc.; Solar Spectrum; and Hands-On Mobile. He also was an Audit Manager at Coopers & Lybrand and is a Certified Public Accountant.
"I’m excited to join the Octave team, with the opportunities to transform mental health care at such a critical time,” White said. “Octave is at an inflection point for major growth, and I look forward to bringing my experience to the table, so more people can access in-network care.”
